These innovative new classes will feature a custom unstable surfboard that delivers the physical benefits of surfing without the ocean. SURFSET® brings one of the world’s most athletic & fun sports to the group fitness studio, giving class takers the opportunity to experience this one-of-a-kind workout with no ocean in sight. The program combines rotational core training with isometric movements to build a long lean torso, and elevates the heart rate to torch fat with Wave Runners, Shark Kicks, Duck Dives and of course, the signature surf move…the Pop-up. All of the exercises are beach inspired & total-body, and include strength, cardio and flexibility based movements. The instability of the SURFSET® board improves athleticism by constantly causing core muscles to react to a dynamically shifting platform. A single SURFSET® session can burn anywhere from 500-900 calories in just 45 minutes.

SURFSET Fitness was born from a desire to bring extreme sports into the fitness world for people with a sense of adventure who love to challenge themselves every day. Founder Mike Hartwick, a former Pro Hockey player, found that a surf session was much more physically intense and mentally engaging than the standard gym routine. He created the board and SURFSET® method to deliver the full body benefits of surfing to anyone, anywhere, any time of the year.
